Already from the age of fourteen, Ras Tewelde began singing with a band history of reggae in Italy: Living In The Ghetto Band. is one of three entries. From 1998 to 2002 he performed throughout Italy, until you get to participate in various festivals in Italy, including the Natural Mistyc Reggae Festival 2001 and Rototom 2002.
Meanwhile, in 2000, he moved to Perugia, where he began forming the parallel experience Ndujah Band, Current River Nile. The passion for reggae music brings Tewelde soon become an increasing awareness of the profound message conveyed through the metrics of Roots Music, a landmark for its continued artistic growth, and above all spiritual. This applies to the first step towards understanding the figure of Emperor Haile Selassie I, who will always occupy more space in his life, until it is in Ethiopia in 2004 after two years of absence from the stage and after interrupting his experiences with both bands.
